Selection Process
The selection process for the SBI Apprentice recruitment is designed to assess candidates’ aptitude and language proficiency. It primarily consists of the following stages:
- Online Written Examination: This is the first stage, comprising objective-type questions. The exam will be conducted online and will have 100 questions for 100 marks, with a total duration of 60 minutes. There will be separate timing for each section (15 minutes per section). Questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi), except for the General English section. A negative marking of 1/4th mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The merit list will be prepared State-wise and Category-wise based on the aggregate marks obtained.
- Test of Local Language: Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the state for which they are applying (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding). This test will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who produce their 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified local language will be exempted from this test. Failure to qualify this test will result in non-engagement as an apprentice.
- Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the bank’s fitness standards.
- Document Verification: Before final selection, candidates must undergo document verification to confirm the authenticity of their submitted details and testimonials.
It is important to note that there will be no interview round for this recruitment. The final selection will be based on marks obtained in the online examination, qualification in the local language test, medical fitness, and successful document verification.
