Assam’s Higher Education Department has banned colleges from hiring contractual staff against unsanctioned posts and ordered discontinuation of existing such engagements, aiming to regularise employment.
The Panchayat & Rural Development Department, Assam, will soon announce the exam date for 1508 vacancies, with applications closing on March 22, 2026.
The Supreme Court has directed the Government of Assam to regularize left-out muster roll workers, ruling that denying benefits to similarly situated employees is unconstitutional. The regularization exercise must be completed within one year.
